2.  "There Will Come Soft Rains"  comprehension questions and examples of figurative language.

Complete Similes, metaphors, and personification for homework.  Study five vocabulary words:
paranoia, cavorting, tremulous, oblivious, and sublime.

1.  Turn in SAT LIST 4 Sentences 91-120
2.  Turn in "Everyday Use" assignment.
3.  SAT Vocabulary Quiz 4
4.  "There Will Come Soft Rains"  CP level questions.  Complete for homework as well as SAT LIST 5 vocabulary sentences for Monday and Tuesday.

2.  Discuss:  Is technology a boon or a hazard?  Discuss over-dependence, addiction, depersonalization in communication, etc.

3.  Passed out SAT Vocabulary List 5 (Except to 5th)

4. Read "There Will Come Soft Rains" by Ray Bradbury

Periods 1-3

1.  "A Sound of Thunder"  Foreshadowing Activity. (Worked as a class with students finding text evidence of foreshadowing and citing page and quote.)

2.  Science Fiction Notes:  Students read the elements of science fiction (handout). Then students made a list of books, stories, and films that qualify as science fiction and shared with class.  In what ways does "A Sound of Thunder" qualify as science fiction?

3.  Begin film Ray Bradbury: An American Icon  (1st. 1555; 2nd: 1412; 3rd: 1415).




Periods 5-6
