1.  Discuss and exemplify "padding"  empty writing.  Read  "How to Say Nothing in 500 Words." excerpt.

1. Sentence combining.  Exercises from Writers Craft text.  pp. 420-424.

2. Passed out graded work for portfolio and revisions.

3. Study for Farewell to Manzanar vocabulary quiz:  Glossary words with * and 4.
