Periods 1-3

1.  SSR and LOG   Period 2:  Log Check

2.  Since students' outlines were not adequately completed, the correct outline format was explained using the document camera.  Students were taught, step by step, the proper elaboration of an outline.  They completed Introduction:  Grabber, Orient the Reader, and Thesis; Body paragraph #1:  Topic sentence, Evidence [Quote # 1, Quote #2], and Commentary.  They are to complete this format for Body Paragraphs # 2 and # 3.  Then they are to end with Conclusion: Restate thesis statement and reflect upon content, tying all information together and ending with a thoughtful commentary.

3.  Vocabulary Quiz PSAT List #3 tomorrow.

Periods 5 - 7

1.  Distribution of The Grapes of Wrath.  Read Chapters 1 and 2 for homework.  Expect a quiz tomorrow.

2.  Check outlines with document camera.  Many students did not complete outline.

3.  Write essays in class.  Those students not prepared worked in class.  Students who finished the outline and essay began reading TGW. Final essays must be typed and turned in tomorrow.
