Periods 1 - 3

1.  Notes on characteristics of persuasive and expository essays.
2.  Worked on  Use "Absolute" Language to Persuade Your Audience handout.

NOTE: Synonyms on this handout for "Good, important, bad, and unimportant"  need to be memorized by Friday. You will have a quiz on these synonyms.

3.  The Tragedy of Othello to Scene 3.  Period 3 completed ACT I.

Periods 5 - 7

1.  Reviewed differences between expository and persuasive modes.  Follow-up from yesterday.

2.  Passed back stamped  "A Different Kind of Holocaust" essays for peer revision and final draft writing.

3.  Students who neglected to bring essays sat and wrote their essays in class.  They are responsible to find two peer revisers.

4.  NOTE:  Vocabulary Lesson XXII (22)  is due Thursday.
