Period 1:
1. Shift in Person and Tense exercise. The Tragedy of Othello intro (LCD projector died and had to find alternate one in library, so students did not view this video.
Period 2:
1. Shift in Person and Tense exercise warm-up.
2. Film video: Standard Deviant's Shakespeare's Othello. Intro to the main and secondary characters in othello, and universal themes and particulars represented by these main characters: GOOD, EVIL, and EVERYMAN. Students took a quiz on the characters using notes.
Period 3:
1. Ms. Sarah Cooper with Writers in the School co-taught "Remembering All the Boys" by Elvia Bautista. We analyzed essay for position, persuasive appeals, and specific details. Students then brainstormed with graphic organizer to write about what they strongly believe.
Periods 5 - 7
1. Shift in Person warm-up.
2. Standard Deviant's Shakespeare's Othello. Students took notes on handout. Then they took a quiz on the character without using notes.
* Do complete comma use handout during break. Bring to class on Monday 3/18
* No vocabulary for this week. Lesson XXII will be due the Thursday after Spring Break.
